VACATION FUN!!!

Boy have I been busy...can't believe I haven't posted anything for over a month. Well we just got back from a vacation last Tuesday. We had a ball. Steve was unable to go with us due to his work commitments, so I invited my friend Mandy and her two boys to go with us. Her hubby has a softball tournament that weekend. SO, we all squeezed into my Explorer and headed to Coos Bay for 6 days. Well 2 days traveling and 4 days of fun. The first travel day was quite the experience. Mandy's boys are 4 and 1. We left at 4 am in hopes that they would sleep most of the way...well they slept some...but definitely not the whole way. Friday, we went and did a tour of the beaches. Shore Acres, Sea Lion Look out and ended up at Sunset Beach for the rest of the afternoon, after having had lunch at my favorite Burger joint. It was a gorgeous day. The kids had a ball playing in the ocean and the sand. Even Cody, my 17 yr. old, had fun building sand castles. The next day we went to Empire Lakes, where Noah, Mandy's 4yr old. caught his first fish. It was so much fun watching him, and definitely brought back memories for me of my kids catching their first fish in that very lake. Sunday we went to Loon Lake for the whole day. Fun was had by all. Then the last day, the weather turned to true coastal weather. Very foggy, windy and cold. We did go to a great park in town, Mingus Park and walked around. Then knowing what our experience was like on the trip there, we decided to leave that evening. We left at 11:00 pm our time and drove through the night. It made for a much more saner drive. We had such a great time. It's always fun to visit your hometown with someone new, because you get to go and see and do the things you take for granted when you live there. Thanks Mandy, Noah and Cooper for sharing the fun!!

Sounds like you guys had a blast! I know Mandy wishes the trip were a couple days longer :-)
